Climate change Summative Assessment Prep

Your goal tonight is to be done with your research and rough drafts for Questions 1 and 2 for the Summative Assessment.  Another great resource is your textbook.  If you don't have access to the internet the book has almost all of the information you need.  See pages 240-251.

1.  Weather Presentation Project if you have not presented. 
 Atmosphere, Weather and Climate Summative Assessment.  Over the weekend students should finish up their Question 1 rough draft.  If you want to jump the gun you can work on researching for question 2 (the gold paper).  What should your paragraph look like?

1.  Start with an "attention driver" or "hook".
2.  Then write a topic or thesis statement (A very general answer to the question itself).
3.  Details, Details! Now use your research on your purple paper to write the body of your paragraph.
4.  Wrap it up! with a concluding sentence.

1.  Complete Passage Analysis worksheet for pages 226-235 : Climate Passage Analysis

2.  Create a concept map showing aspects of your ideal climate for each section from the passage analysis.

Middle Square information should include: a. The major climate zone your ideal climate would be in
                                                                      b.  The specific climate zone your ideal climate would be
                                                                           in:  234-235

5 bubbles should offshoot from the middle square and should have the following information for your climate.  Include a description and picture:

1.  Temperature and precipitation
2.  Latitude
3.  Topography and elevation
4.  Large bodies of water
5.  Ocean currents

1.  Finish Density Online Lab if you did not finish in class.

2.  Bring a green, pink and yellow highlighter if you own them.  (I told some periods to also have a blue one but you do not need a blue one after all).  If you do not have these colors for tomorrow, please bring similar colored markers and/or colored pencils.

Complete the car buying activity sheet.  Have all pieces filled out except the last part that says "Scenario evaluation" is not required.  Please take some time to go over the vocab from this paper since that is what we will be focusing on in the next few days.

2.  Finish Graphic Organizer on Groundwater

Finish Google Map if you didn't finish in class.

1.  Go to google maps and find your house in Newberg (doens't have to be precise).  Mark it on the paper map
2.  Identify and trace the nearest divide with a dotted line
3.  Identify and trace the nearest tributary with a colored pencil
4.  Describe in a sentence the gradient and what you think the flow and stream load are like in the tributary you traced.
5.  Trace the tributary all the way to the Willamette River.

Read and complete pages 32-35- I know it's much easier and tempting to just do the work and not bother to read the pages, but it will help you in the future, trust me. READ IT!
